Here is how to change the privacy settings for the microphone and camera in Windows 10 to enable them:

  1. Click the Start Menu, then Settings (the gear icon, 2nd from the bottom)
  2. In the search box start typing microphone and then click on microphone privacy settings. 
  3. On the right it should say Microphone access for this device is on. If not, change it.
  4. Underneath that, switch Allow apps to recognize your microphone to on.
  5. Do the same steps for the camera, just click on Camera on the left. That should do it.
