Can you install Matlab for me?

We can install Matlab on ETS supported machines (they will have an ETSXXXXXX or ENSXXXXXX) if it is a personal machine you will need to follow instructions on https://www.engr.colostate.edu/ets/matlab/ and do the installation yourself.

What toolboxes are available for Matlab?

The toolboxes will be listed here: https://www.engr.colostate.edu/ets/matlab/

I keep getting a License Checkout Failed error.

This could be due to quite a few things:

  • Unfortunately CSU only has a limited number of Matlab licenses, the same goes for the tool boxes, typically checking in later in the day or a time when you think less people will be accessing Matlab would be your best bet. If it has been a few days and you continue to have these errors please submit a ticket to us.
  • If you are off campus you may need to connect to the CSU network through Global Protect.
  • Another more rare issue is, if you have multiple versions of Matlab they could be interfering with each other make sure you only have the latest one installed.

I can't log into the Matlab portal

  • If you are getting the error "You are not permitted to use this license for Colorado State University", it's likely your directory information for Division of IT is incorrect. Submit a ticket here and we'll assist you: https://csu-ets.freshservice.com/support/tickets/new Please include the error text or a screenshot of the error to expedite the process.
  • If you are experiencing different errors, and there is an apostrophe in your name, please see the instructions below from Mathworks:
    • They should still be able to use MATLAB Online without issue at matlab.mathworks.com and offline installations using the ISO are also unaffected.
Alternatively, students can correct this by going to mathworks.com/profiles/edit and manually remove the apostrophe from their name, or they can call MathWorks Support and we can remove the apostrophe for them.

The Profile Edit page can also be accessed using the "Profile" dropdown to click "Edit Profile" from the "My Account" page:
